Please read these terms carefully before purchasing temporary car insurance from Quik Insure Cover. By using our service, you agree to these terms.
1. Introduction
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Quik Insure Cover website at quickinsurecover.com ("Website") and the temporary motor insurance products made available through it ("Services"). Quik Insure Cover ("we", "us", "our") is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
By accessing the Website or purchasing a policy, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use our Services.
2. Eligibility
To purchase a temporary car insurance policy through Quik Insure Cover, you must meet all of the following criteria:
- Be aged 17 or over at the start of the policy
- Hold a valid full or provisional UK driving licence (or an eligible foreign licence)
- Have held your licence for at least 6 months
- Be a UK resident with a permanent UK address
- Not be currently disqualified from driving
- Not have more than 6 penalty points on your licence in the last 3 years
- Not have had an at-fault claim in the last 12 months
- The insured vehicle must be registered, taxed, and MOT'd (where required) in the United Kingdom
We reserve the right to decline any application that does not meet our underwriting criteria without providing a reason.
3. Your Policy
Quik Insure Cover provides standalone temporary motor insurance for periods ranging from 1 hour to 30 days. Each policy is independent and does not affect the vehicle owner's existing annual insurance policy or their No Claims Discount (NCD).
Upon successful payment, you will receive a Certificate of Motor Insurance by email. This document is your legal proof of insurance. You are responsible for ensuring the details on the certificate are correct. If you notice any errors, you must contact us immediately at admin@quikinsurecover.co.uk.
Policies are issued for the exact start and end dates you specify during the quote process. Cover does not begin before the stated start time and expires precisely at the stated end time.
4. What Is Covered
All Quik Insure Cover temporary policies provide fully comprehensive cover, which includes:
- Accidental damage to the insured vehicle
- Theft and attempted theft of the insured vehicle
- Fire damage to the insured vehicle
- Third party liability – bodily injury to others
- Third party liability – damage to third party property
- Windscreen and glass repair (subject to policy terms)
- Personal accident benefits (as specified in the policy schedule)
Cover is valid across Great Britain, Northern Ireland, the Isle of Man, the Channel Islands, and all European Union member states plus Andorra, Croatia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Serbia, and Switzerland.
5. Exclusions
The following are not covered under any Quik Insure Cover policy:
- Use on racetracks, circuits, or closed roads (including the Nurburgring Nordschleife)
- Use in racing, rallying, speed testing, track days, or motor sport events
- Use for hiring the vehicle to third parties
- Carrying passengers for hire or reward
- Use in connection with the motor trade
- Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Any driver not named on the policy
- Vehicles used for courier or delivery services
- Deliberate damage caused by the policyholder
- Claims arising from terrorism or war
6. Payment & Pricing
All prices displayed on the Website are in Pounds Sterling (GBP) and are inclusive of Insurance Premium Tax (IPT) at the current rate. Prices are calculated dynamically based on the driver's age, cover duration, and vehicle type.
Payment is processed securely via PayPal or debit/credit card. We do not store your card details. All transactions are protected by 256-bit SSL encryption.
Your policy becomes active only upon confirmed successful payment. In the event of a payment failure, no cover is in force.
7. Cancellation & Refunds
You have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of purchase, provided cover has not yet started. If cover has already started, a pro-rata refund may be available minus an administration fee of £15.
To request a cancellation, contact us at admin@quikinsurecover.co.uk with your policy number. We will process eligible refunds within 5–10 working days.
No refund is available if a claim has been made under the policy, or if the policy has expired.
8. Making a Claim
In the event of an incident, you must notify us as soon as reasonably possible. Do not admit liability at the scene of an accident. Gather the other party's details, take photographs where safe to do so, and obtain any witness information.
Claims should be reported by emailing admin@quikinsurecover.co.uk or calling our claims line. Full details of the claims process are included in your policy documents.
9. Limitation of Liability
Quik Insure Cover's liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for your policy. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special losses arising from the use of, or inability to use, our Services.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Your Data
We collect and process your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By purchasing a policy, you consent to the processing of your data for the purposes of providing insurance cover, including sharing data with underwriters, fraud prevention agencies, and regulatory bodies where required.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The date of the most recent revision is shown at the top of this page. Continued use of our Services after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Quik Insure Cover is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. If you are unhappy with our service, please refer to our Complaints Policy.
